Artist's Comments

Here it is finished.

Honestly though, I like this better with the flat colours now. This was so experimental that I can look back and see a lot of what I should have changed with the finished one. :) Well, I'm glad I saved this version anyway.

PS: yes, this is the picture this was about. I've been fighting stupid Arinae and her stupid unshadable drow skin and her stupid takes-forever-to-draw chains for like three straight days. T_____T

I would say to always err on the side of more stuff on fire. Some kind of back lighting could help you to emphasize the cool colors in the figure with the shadow color.

Definitely backlit, I agree! I'll probably change her skintone to a warm gray instead of a cool gray if I go with the fire (Tom agrees, so far, and suggests lots of blood), but yeah, cool shadows and loads of bounce light.

OH GOSH this is a gorgeous piece as is, I can't wait to see it shaded. I love the blue skin with the white, silvery hair. Awesome. I personally would like to see this moonlit, but I'm a sucker for analagous color schemes 'cause I suck at it. Okay she is just a beautiful character.

Guess what? I got a fever, and the only prescription is more COWBELL.

<3 Thank you so much! That's me as well, actually, make something mostly blue and there's like 99.9% chance I'll love it so I tend to use a lot of blue.

WELL we will see!!!
